This magnificent Ushak carpet was woven in the late 19th century in Ushak, one of the most important weaving centers of Western Anatolia. Ushak carpets were highly prized during the Ottoman period, adorning palaces as well as the residences of European aristocracy, and have gained worldwide renown.
The carpet stands out with its soft earthy tones, complemented by pastel blues and warm yellows in perfect harmony. Geometric arrangements, stylized botanical motifs, and a balanced composition reflect the characteristic aesthetic of Ushak carpets.
