17th Century Turkish Rug From The James Ballard Collection– This 17th century piece displays an unusual and superbly colored medallion with rectilinear spandrels and symbolic space fillers. Latch-hook ornaments, S-hooks and arthropod-an end pieces that prompt comparisons with early kilims. Documented as a beloved part of his original collection, this rug was included in several exhibitions in the 1920′s.
