Caucasian Bordjalou Rug
Middle of the 19th Century Caucasian Bordjalou Rug
A three-panel Cossack from the Borjalou group, with the typical wide hooked vine border and yellow-framed three-panel field design. Signs of wear and tear. A yellow frame decorated with rosettes surrounds all three sections of the field. The first and third compartments have a red floor. The blue-grounded central compartment shows a white-grounded box filled with stars and outlined with a red hook, a well-known Karachov motif.
